Featured Bead Society - 2
The Bead Society of Greater Chicago
Founded in 1989, the Bead Society of Greater Chicago just keeps growing. I was pleased to attend their September 1997 meeting and annual bazaar.

There was lots of bead buying
And miles of books
One of the Society's more interesting project is their Creativity Challenge. Each participating member is given an item and a theme and has to use their imagination to build something. One year they were given a straw hat with a musical theme, another an assortment of 17 beads.
The 1997 challenge had a fairly tale theme. Each contestant was given a fairly tale book to build their fantasies. The entries are judged and winners announced.
